Cloud-based 3D Design with Vectary

3D design for the win! This week’s site will keep your students busy creating and designing for hours! (If you need to keep them busy for a while.) 😉 Vectary is a user-friendly design site that runs in the cloud! And since it runs on the cloud, there is no need to download anything… and it works on Chromebooks!
Vectary
Vectary is a design site that is great for teaching students how to create in the world of 3D. It gives you starting options that are really helpful for beginner designers and it has a whole collection of YouTube videos to get you started. Vectary allows you to design for free with a regular account, but they also have an educator account that is nice if you are working with a class. So if you have a few students that want to check it out, they can do so on their own, or you can create an account for your class.
This site has beginner projects to get you started and it is easy to share with others! It’s also neat that you can open projects on your phone and, if you have the option, you can also open it in an augmented reality format. The students at my school have been busily creating and using our 3D printers to share their projects with others. It’s amazing all the ideas they are coming up with!
So, if you want to teach your students about 3D design, this is an awesome way to get them started! Check it out!
