Taking Care of YOU

What is your plan for when the school year is over? Are you ready for a break? Or do you start planning for next year? This week’s episode is to bring a little balance into your life. I’ve found a few sites to help you with a little self-care—as well as a few ideas for your classroom. I couldn’t decide, this week, so we have five topics for you! 🙂

The Daily Skimm

The first site is The Daily Skimm. Either visit the website or sign up for their daily emails that give you a summary of news from around the world. It is an easy way to know what is going on without having to spend too much time on topics you aren’t interested in.

Fitness Blender

Fitness Blender is a site that I am going to give a try this summer. It is a free way to get daily workouts with a multitude of options to fit your lifestyle. You are able to search all types of free workouts! Give it a try and let me know how it works for you.

Plant Nanny

Plant Nanny is the cutest app to inspire you to drink more water. It is a way to boost your water intake and hold you accountable. It has lots of extras you can pay for, but just watering the plant is super fun and easy to do. Drink More Water!

Epic!

The first education focused site is Epic. It has a large selection of online books you can use in your classroom. You set up a class and your students have access to digital books and audio books. It is recommended K – 6th grade, but I see lots of benefits to this site. Make sure to sign up as an educator.

Just Not Sorry Gmail

Last but not least is the Just Not Sorry Gmail plugin. It checks your emails and makes you aware of how often you undermine your own writing. It checks your email and underlines specific words that may make your email seem passive or less important. Stand tall, be confident and be proud of what you have done!

TECH MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE:

I hope you will be able to find several of these helpful as we transition into summer. Make sure to report back and let us know what you are having fun with! Next week will be the big Season 1 Finale – don’t miss it! 🙂
