Explore the World with Nat Geo Kids

January is cold, recess is unpredictable, and students have a lot of energy. That’s where National Geographic Kids comes in.

In Episode 226 of the Tech Tools for Teachers Podcast, we revisit kids.nationalgeographic.com—a site that has seen major upgrades since we last talked about it way back in Episode 56. And wow… there’s a lot to love.

National Geographic Kids is packed with easy-to-digest articles, high-quality visuals, and engaging interactive content that works across grade levels. While it’s often thought of as an elementary resource, middle and even high school teachers can use it for bell ringers, quick research, discussion starters, and enrichment activities.

One of the biggest strengths of the site is how current it is. From MLK Jr. Day resources to Olympics-related content, space exploration, animals, science, and geography, there’s always something timely to bring into your classroom.

Students can:

• Explore “Weird But True” facts that are perfect for engagement and discussion
